We here at Northern Nights Campground RV Park & Cabins have had 32 years of dedicated service to you and our local community.

We built this company from the ground up, opening our facilities on March 1st, 1989. As more and more people were drawn to Alaska, we did our best to meet demand and expand our facilities for you. We began preparing additional camping spaces and amenities.

Now we have more to offer, and since we are done expanding, we have dedicated ourselves to improving the quality and cleanliness of what we have. Now if you’re looking for a place where you can relax with your pets, we are afraid that our cabins are not pet friendly. However, our RV park has great amenities to share with your best 4-legged buddy, so give us a call, and we’ll be happy to talk to you about your furry friend.

We here at Northern Nights Campground want nothing more than to help you enjoy your time with us and our staff. We hire from the local Ahtna Native Alaska people, and we make sure that they are receiving a competitive wage. You won’t get better staff anywhere.

If you don’t believe us, then how about our customers themselves? Here are just a few of over fifty positive reviews on TripAdvisor.

Nin said “I’ve stayed at the Northern Nights Campground for one night on a campsite. Not just that the host received me after he was already off work, he gave me a lot of recommendations too. E.g. which shuttle-lines I might take and where to go. He was really kind and super interested in a good talk and my story. The campground has everything you need: clean bathrooms, hot showers, wifi, electricity, pavilion, firepits and as best: free coffee in the morning hours! I felt very comfortable and would like to go back. Thanks for your hospitality!”

Rick E said “This park is in the spruce trees, it’s like being in a Forest Service Campground. The staff is sensitive to guests’ needs, the woman in the site next to us had a nasty fall, two of the staff, one drove her, and one accompanied her to the emergency clinic in Glennallen. The location is convenient, close to town, and Wrangell St. Elias NP. We highly recommend staying at this park, the staff go the extra mile for their guests. They rock!”

Mark W said “We came in late on motorcycles, they were completely full but found a spot for us anyway. Warm and friendly folks, the whole place, including restrooms, was immaculate. Even insisted that we join everyone for the free dessert that night. You can’t go wrong here!”

We even won the 2020 Community Investment Award from the Greater Copper Valley Chamber of Commerce. We take care of our own which means that they want to take care of you for 24 hours a day. We strongly encourage you to talk with us if you need anything. We’re happy to help, and we’d love to spend some time with you.

That also means we offer discounts, especially to our veterans. If you have served us, we especially want to serve you. We can’t think of anything better than to care for those who have stood for us.

That is our mission. We promise to give you the break you deserve and the service that you need. We provide a safe landing strip for you to settle down and forget all your worries. We have made sure to offer as much as we can so that you and whomever you wanted to enjoy your time with can settle in comfortably. To us, you’re more than tourists; you’re family, and we’ll treat you that way, but don’t you worry. We won’t be raiding your pantry or stealing your Netflix password.

Our location is in a small town with all the businesses you could need from gas and sports gear to a chiropractor or dentist. You don’t even have to feel guilty for missing church since we’ve got more than one that would be happy to welcome you.

If you want to avoid people, that works, too. We have lots of trees and secluded areas you’re welcome to hide in. If you can’t find anything good to watch online, you’re more than welcome to rent a movie and hide away in the comfort of your home away from home. Your ideal spot to take a rest during your trip through Alaska is also at the gateway to the Wrangell St. Elias National Park & Preserve. Not only is it perfect for nature lovers, but it’s also the largest one in North America. You could definitely avoid people there.

Of course, if hiking or walking the trail isn’t what peaked your interest, we have plenty more to offer you. The Chamber of Commerce Visitor Center is just the next business down the highway.

If you are a fan of history or art, we have great options for you. The George Ashby Memorial Museum is a rustic experience in log cabins that give you a glimpse into the Copper River Valley’s past. You can see and enjoy the Tonsia Native Artworks, and even get a chance to bring home a breathtaking piece from Spirit Mountain Artworks which has a reputation for selling beautiful work at a reasonable price. There you can see work and support real artists from all over Alaska.

If you are a bit more adventurous, we even have fishing and river rafting. The air is clear and clean up here, and you can enjoy the wind rustling through your hair. If you have missed the stars living in the big city or even just a city, we will be happy to reintroduce you to them.

In fact, you can even take a trip on the eco-friendly Kennicott Shuttle through the Wrangell-St. Elias National Park and Preserve, the historic copper mining town of Kennicott, the beautiful Copper River Valley, or even take a tour of the most magnificent mountain scenery in Alaska. Keep your camera on you if you do! Moose, bears, foxes, and lynxes love to preen for photos, especially on the historic McCarthy Road.

We want you to get a chance to truly live and laugh here at Northern Nights Campground RV Park & Cabins. We know you deserve a break for once.

Give us a call at 907-822-3199. From 8 in the morning to 8 at night, we’re happy to take your call. We also have a website for those who get nervous on the phone and a Facebook page that you’ are more than welcome to visit if you want to see fun photos and possibly a cobbler recipe or two.
